We can’t stand unsolicited email (otherwise known as spam) because like you, we get tired of wasting valuable time trying to determine whether an email is worthy of our attention or not. It wastes everyone’s time to have to deal with it, and you would think that it wastes the sender’s time to send messages that are useless because they won’t be read.
Unfortunately millions of dollars are made from consumers who don’t mind opening spam emails and purchasing the products or services contained within. This is in large part the reason why spam won’t go away any time soon.
There is also an unethical practice known as “spoofing” where by a spammer or whomever decides to send unsolicited email by spoofing the email address to look like it came from the original address when indeed it did not.
Always check the headers of your email message in your email program to see if it originated from our server (or anyone else’s for that matter) before reporting it as spam.
A lot of legitimate companies have had their reputations tarnished because the recipient didn’t look at the headers before filing a complaint to the spam department or black list.
We comply with the requirements of the Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and any other applicable laws related to unsolicited commercial email. This means that we only send you email or newsletters after you have opted in to receive them, by submitting an online form.
Additionally, we use the double opt-in method, whereby, after your initial form submission, we require you to click on a link inside an email sent to you to confirm your request. This ensures that someone else has not submitted your email address without your knowledge. If you do not wish to receive email from us, all you need to do is to not confirm.
We also provide a way for you to unsubscribe at any time, by clicking an “Unsubscribe” link in any messages that you receive from us. If you happen to have subscribed to more than one of our lists, you will have to unsubscribe from each one individually, via this “Unsubscribe” link. In addition, you may contact us with a request to be unsubscribed, via the Contact Us page of our web site.
